First, I’d like to welcome all of the new folks! A bunch of new subscribers this week and you are so very welcome. Catch up if you like by reading the back catalogue of posts.
My days are split between the writing job and home repairs, and both are keeping me busy. Breaking News is on target to be released this month -maybe in a week, we’ll see. Working with another author on a project like this is a first for me, so the timeframe stuff is still being learned.
Porch demo is still happening, along with painting outside, working on the kitchen ceiling inside, etc…etc..
But the weather is giving us a few more warmer days than cool, and I’m happy for that. It helps make it pleasant enough to work outside without overheating or freezing.
Sitting in my writing office with the windows open and the music playing is always a good place to be.
For Breaking News:
The past just won't leave her alone.
Evangeline "Van" Beaujolais was one of Universal Press's best journalists, traveling the globe with her photographer, Liam Grant. She had a brilliant career, a beautiful condo in Seattle that she shared with the love of her life, Marcus Weatherby, and friends that made up her chosen family.
An assignment to cover a local music festival ended in tragedy, and Van walked away from it all. Marcus' death broke something in her that Van thought could never be made right.
Now, haunted by more than just her grief, Van falls under the guidance of her psychotherapist, Dr. Arabella Hadley, to uncover the reason why she can't lay Marcus' literal ghost to rest.
Liam Grant and her chosen family had never given up on her, and Marcus won't either. Not until she overcomes the dark shadow of mourning and seizes her place among the living.

Also on deck is Knight - the second book in The Chess Club Mystery Series.
Chase Payne is on the right track to letting go of his past. He left his job to go back home; not just to bury a friend, Wes Davenport, but to hold a promise he fully intended to keep.
Corruption, scandal, terror, and loss have plagued Lakeridge for too long, and the region's top FBIS agent has asked the Chess Club to work together to fix the mess. For Chase, that means putting his past demons to rest and focusing on the future.
Considering he’d never felt he deserved any kind of future, this homecoming challenges him in ways he never saw coming. Not to mention the competition with Lieutenant Cassidy Redbird for sheriff. On more than one front, Chase really has his work cut out for him.
But how much of his past can he let go of, and what happens if he can't?
