Had a lot of progress this week! Pergola is nearly finished. Fiends & Familiars is nearly finished. Guest room is painted.
Have you preordered the three-book series in one volume, yet? The Winthrop Literary (& Magic) Society collection will contain Becoming Bader, Trials & Treaties, and Fiends & Familiars.
Excerpt:
“How did we end up here?” Bader asked, not really expecting an answer. “I liked just running the shop and finally catching up on law classes. But then the President asked me to help and here I am.”
Magnus handed her the basket of biscuits, then speared a bite of chicken and ate it. “We do what we’re called to do. It’s how we’re both made. It’s why I still do agency work sometimes, even though I’ve been supposedly retired for years.”
“I mean, how was I supposed to tell the President, ‘gee, no thanks’? I couldn’t. I just couldn’t,” Bader muttered to herself, then put her fork down and rubbed her hands over her face. “When this is over, though, I’m going to go back to taking classes and running the shop. That’s the goal, okay?”
“Sounds like a good plan to me,” Magnus replied, then reached over and took one of her hands.
“Jack is coming over later and we’ll discuss next steps. I know he’s been planning a scouting mission to see what we can learn about the area around the cliffs. I’ve got to deal with exams this week, so it’ll be up to you, Jack, Jonas, and Ian.”
“Ian’s got a training session he has to do for the Bishop’s Bay police department. That’s going to keep him tied up for a few more days. So it’ll be just the three of us.”
Magnus lifted Bader’s hand and kissed her fingers, then went back to his meal. “Just stay safe and smart, okay?”
“That’s the plan, my love,” Bader replied.

All I wanted was a quiet Halloween in the country with my two witchy best friends.
For the first time since we got our driver’s licenses my two best friends and I were running away from Halloween. We didn’t want to go back to the drunken street festival in New Orleans, the all night parties in New York, or the glittery overdone clubs of Las Vegas. This year we just wanted a quiet cabin in the woods where we could drink tea and be in bed by eleven – if the baby let us.
The problem? A hot as sin man with the sunniest personality I’d ever met decided to crash our little getaway. I had no idea what kind of man he was - incubus, shifter, vampire, elf or alien - and I really needed to figure it out since he announced we got married over dinner.
Blue Moon is the prequel for the new Love In The Woods Series by Shelly Ferguson. It is a fun twist on the grumpy/sunshine trope with just enough magic to make things spicy.
