Christmas eve is, for my family, a time to read, relax, have some hot cocoa and spend time together. Saoirse is done and uploaded and I hope y’all are enjoying her adventures.
This was my view earlier this week as I raced against the clock to get Saoirse uploaded in time.
My main computer case decided to die. Well, the usb ports in the front did. Which meant my keyboard and mouse no longer worked. So, a new case was ordered and in the meantime, I used my travel computer to finish up the book. I’ve learned that I am not someone who likes deadlines not of my own design, so I’ll be keeping that in mind as the plans for 2024 are finalized.
Christmas Day dinner will be a spiral-cut ham, baked with pineapple and cloves, cheesy scalloped potatoes, steamed asparagus, and crescent rolls. We’ve planned a day of hanging out and watching movies, then some gaming. Yes, my son and I are both gamers - isn’t that cool? We share a couple that we like, and we have others that each of us like on our own. I just got Assassin’s Creed Nexus and I’m excited to dive into it.
What are your holiday traditions? We opened our gifts on Yule and I left the window candles burning all night (LED ones, not fire). We had a nice dinner, opened gifts, then took our coffee out onto the porch and lit the fire table and talked for over an hour. It was awesome. Then we went back inside and I finished up Saoirse, formatted it, and got it uploaded everywhere.
Let me know something you do for the holidays. Maybe it’ll make it into a book?
Speaking of books - these are a few of my author friends who have some amazing stories for you to dive into.
Visit Kat Newman on her substack and grab a free copy of Have A Little Faith.
Slide on over into Miri Stone’s substack and see what amazing stories she’s got up for grabs.
Shelly Ferguson has been busy with a new baby, but her substack has some juicy story bits.
Amanda V. Shane has a whole story right in her substack that you can read here.
Then there’s Mariah Thayer’s substack that has some steamy, moody beefcake right here.
I always have to watch White Christmas at least a couple of times over the holidays.
My niece, sister and I get together to make my Mom’s Christmas stollen. It’s a more than half a day’s work as the dough has to rise 3 times. But, oh, is it worth it!
