Fate or Destiny - Chapter Five

Rowan could say that it was still technically morning – barely. She woke around eleven and took a nice, long shower before she pulled on jeans and a sweatshirt and a pair of slipper socks. She took the time to make her bed and put her clothes away in the closet and dresser before she headed downstairs.

She could hear voices in the kitchen and, for a moment, stopped outside the doorway to listen. Two female voices and one male, and the male voice was not Magnus. Ro let out a slow breath, squared her shoulders, and stepped into the room. There was a woman with a long dark braid at the stove, dressed in jeans and a sweater that hid her shape. At the table near the windows sat a young man with tousled dirty blonde hair and light brown eyes, dressed in a flannel shirt and canvas work pants, a thermal shirt visible under the flannel. He was the first one to notice her and stopped mid-sentence to give her a smile. A young woman sat across from him and Rowan immediately knew she would be a problem. Blonde hair in a stylish cut, gray eyes, pale skin, and a perfect manicure. She wore a fuzzy pink sweater and jeans that looked like they’d been spray-painted on her skinny frame.
