Keep moving forward...
Over the past week, I went through all of my Supernatural Intelligence Network stories and polished them up. I found a few major formatting errors in the compilations (Vol 1 & 2) and for that I apologize.
It’s been 3-4 years since I’ve looked at these stories and after going through all of them, I can honestly say I miss writing in that world.

It’s been hot, rainy, and muggy here - so I’ve been trying to do outside things early in the morning before the heat takes over when it’s not raining first thing. My Rose of Sharon bush outside of my office window is in full bloom and so beautiful. The hummingbirds love it.
I’ll admit, I’ve been struggling lately. The chaos in this country - and the world - can be exhausting, but it’s the close-to-home shit that’s getting to me. The direct messages and emails I get are mostly uplifting, but sometimes…:lets out a slow breath:.
Some day I’ll be able to buy groceries without wondering what other bills I won’t be paying. I also know I’m not the only one struggling like this.
Someone said “Well, you’re a published author, what do you mean you’re struggling?” and I had to point out that the majority of authors won’t make $100 in sales on a book…ever. (Check ALLi’s annual survey and it’ll back up my statements.) Those that you hear about making six figures are rare - and that’s why you hear about them. For me? My monthly book income doesn’t reach $500. Most months, it doesn’t reach $300.
I’m also living on a disability income, which barely covers the essentials like mortgage, utilities, insurance. I’m not saying this to make a big deal out of it, but to point out a reality that many don’t understand.
And no, I can’t go get ‘a real job’ because I’m permanently disabled. It’s not something that will ‘get better’.
The people that have complained about my ‘buy me a coffee’ links or ‘why are you always trying to sell books'…this is for you. Selling books is how I make money for things like clothes, toiletries, groceries, car repairs - anything outside of the basic mortgage/utilities/insurance bills that my government income covers.
Being an author is my job.

I can empathize. I am trying to get to a point where I can purchase a new laptop. Some of the keys on the current one no longer want to work. I recently purchased and read the 3 novels from the Descendants. I just finished reading the Hybrid Chronicles this past weekend. I also have read all the Partners in Crime and The Chess Club. They were all absolutely great.
