The humidity has eased up and the warm breezes swirl through the house and bring in the scent of honeysuckle and lavender. I have a large planter full of lavender by the front stairs - and under the kitchen window. Honeysuckle grows up over the farm fencing that encloses the dog run across the back and far side of the house, and it smells so sweet. Oh, check this out. I got to watch the fireworks on July 5th from my front porch.
Things have calmed down a little here and I’m back to being able to focus more on my writing while also trying my hand at screenwriting. It’s a whole different style and process, so we’ll see where it goes. I’ve also been doing some reading - refilling the creative well - and I’ve enjoyed stories by Barbara Freethy, Alex Kava, Sara Driscoll, and Toni Anderson.
I finished writing King, but now I’m going back over it and giving it a polish. It should be out by the end of the week, so grab your preorder now.
While you’re waiting, check out this free book from Monica Ross:
Tattoos, boyish charm, a million-dollar bank balance, and a faulty filter between his brain and his mouth? That’s romance author, Drew Katterman.
Big boobs, tiny waist, wide hips, and a painful case of self-consciousness? That’s me, up-and-coming audiobook narrator, Zelda Gordon.
Drew’s fans call him brilliant. His detractors call him a playboy.
My reviewers call me talented. My enemies call me opportunistic.
Drew? He calls me perfect. And I call him a threat to my heart because he’s flirtatious, fun, and rich. He also has a gorgeous girlfriend, and I want only a professional relationship with him to prove my detractors wrong. Right?
So why do his sexy smile and kind words inspire ideas that have nothing to do with a microphone and a manuscript?
My competitors may be wrong about me sleeping my way to success, but they’re correct about one thing: I’m in this business to succeed. Screwing with Drew Katterman can only break my heart and prove the competition right.
Another note - if you want to get access to my stories with a new chapter each week, you can subscribe to my Graffridge Publishing Substack for $5 a month or $55 for a year.

Oh I bet the honeysuckle and lavender smells amazing! I live fireworks when they are at a distance, easier on the senses.
