I hope you all grabbed a bunch of free books from the Romancebookworms.com Book Blast on June 30th. If you haven’t yet, you might still find a good number of them free for a day or two. Just head over to your favorite shop and search on ‘free’.
I’m not a fan of the noise of fireworks, but I do love the colors and displays. One of the advantages of this front porch is that I can watch the displays up on the mountain and only hear the faintest ‘boom’ sounds.
One of my favorite Fourth of July memories is being on a rooftop terrace along the Charles River in Boston, MA, listening to the Boston Pops play the 1812 Overture while the fireworks went off. It was loud - and magical - all in one. I hope you get a chance to enjoy some celebration on this holiday weekend.
In other news, June 29, 2023 was my four year ‘authorversary’. On June 29, 2019, I hit publish on Remembrance. Since then I’ve written forty-six different stories, with some of them to come later this year.
This has been the most rewarding - and the most challenging - career I’ve ever had. I’m grateful to all of you for liking my stories enough to keep buying them. If not for you, this wouldn’t be a career!
Now for the book news. Knight is about half done. I hope to have it wrapped by the middle (end?) of July. This is the next one in the Chess Club Mystery series, after Rook. Grab your preorder here (for less), or here.
Some books from other authors I think you might enjoy!
The Legend. The Immortal. My… Boyfriend?
You know, I really only had two goals in life:
1) Unearth the truth about vampires and,
2) Become hella famous.
Nowhere on that list did I have “die” or “get turned into a bloodsucker.” But guess what? Life doesn’t always go according to plan. Now, thanks to an unfortunate back-alley encounter, I’m the newest member of the undead country club (fangs, coffin, and all). And my savior? Sire? Whatever…
Freaking. Dracula. Himself.
Even stranger, he claims I’m his mate. Like… eternal love. But come on! I don’t have time for that. Not only do I need to track down my attempted murderer, but I also need to learn how to be a vampire. Falling in love is the last thing on my mind right now.
Too bad Dracula has other plans for me. Grab your copy here!
The last thing I need after turning 40 is a midlife crisis in the form of a much younger Australian Adonis. But I can’t resist him….
Julia Prescott lives the perfect life. At least on the outside. But inside, she still lives in fear of the past repeating itself. Of him getting out of prison and fulfilling his promise to her.
Till death do us part.
Which is why she’s refused to get involved with anyone for the past several years. Until a business trip to Hawaii brings her face-to-face with a younger man who invades her every thought.
Lachlan Hale needs answers about his sister’s mysterious death. But to uncover the truth, he needs to return home. It’s the last place he wants to be. Until he comes to a beautiful woman’s rescue on the beach one morning.
Neither is looking for a relationship, but they can’t resist the pull they feel toward each other. So they come to an agreement.
One week. No names. No expectations. It's the perfect plan….
Until they learn their lives collide in a way neither could have anticipated.
They say temptation can be dangerous.
But for Julia and Lachlan, it can also be deadly. Grab your copy here!
Please enjoy the fireworks! Personally I’ve never been a fan. It has always seemed odd that the traditional way to commemorate a bloody time in our history is by torturing veterans who suffer PTSD, or most who served overseas, by bringing what sounds like bombs to their neighborhoods. Not to mention what this does to wildlife and domestic critters. I’m a Debbie Downer of fireworks, along with others who work with wounded warriors.
