Celebrations and stuff
Today is my little brother’s birthday. I say little, but he’s taller than I am and while he’s three years younger, he’s a grandfather twice over. It’s also Flag Day in the US and every year growing up there was a baseball game my brother would be playing in on or around his birthday, and usually in the same week a dance recital for my sister and I.

Celebrating my brother is what I’ll do today. I’m not going to even think about the other so-called celebration going on today, if it happens (yay courts!).
I’ve spent a lot of time this week planning out goals and making notes. I’m feeling really good about future goals and projects and getting more work done on current ones. I woke up Friday morning with a scene for Gone on Arrival in my head and made my coffee, then sat down and got it on the page. Hopefully this has broken through the speed bump/hiccup I’ve been dealing with for the past few weeks regarding this story. * crosses fingers *
Don’t want to sign up for a monthly subscription, but want to support my work? Just ‘buy me a coffee’ and donate instead. (Sleep? Naw, don’t need it.) Caffeine fuels my ideas…thank you!

She swore she’d never forgive him.
He never stopped loving her.
Laird Evans has it all: brilliance in court, powerful family ties, and a future paved in gold. But something is missing—the career he truly wants and the girl he let go.
Fenella Baxter’s modeling career is fading fast, and she’s out of time. She’s sworn off regrets until a surprise run-in with Laird leads to one reckless, tequila-soaked night. Now he’s back, hotter than ever, and determined to make amends.
While old feelings resurface, Fenella lands a contract that could revive her dream career. But her new boss hides more than charm. He’s manipulative, obsessive, and holds a secret that once tore her and Laird apart.
As her star rises, the danger closes in. And choosing the wrong path this time could destroy everything.
Old wounds.
New lies.
And a love that never really ended.
Everyone has a secret. Some are worth killing for…some are worth dying for…
The son of an art thief, FBI agent Flynn MacKenzie is no stranger to deception, but when the brutal murder of a federal judge unravels an intricate and shocking web of lies, he finds himself tangled up in personal life-changing secrets and in the arms of a woman he isn't sure he can trust.
Callie Harper not only wants justice for her stepfather, she also wants to protect her family. Staying close to Flynn seems like the smart option, until she starts to fall for the man who could hurt everyone she loves.
The lines between good and bad, guilty and innocent, are blurred. Callie and Flynn quickly realize their search for the truth could take them somewhere they don't want to go...if they can stay alive long enough to get there.

The matching PJ’s in the grainy filmed photos always rattles something deep inside my core. A nostalgia that makes my bones ache sometimes. Thanks for sharing TK. Happy birthday to your brother 💛
