My grandfather used to say, in his best Brooklyn, NY accent, “Spring has sprung, the flowers riz, I wonder where the boidies is?”
I did some digging and it’s called “The Brooklyn Anthem” and there are many variants, but they’re all from around 1940-ish. (My grandfather was born in Brooklyn in 1916.)
In any event, it’s officially spring and spring in the mountains is enough to give you weather whiplash. Earlier this week it was in the 70s and 80s (21-27C) and Thurs evening we had thundersnow. While it was warm and wonderful outside, I had three days of writing time. The dogs loved being able to run in and out, and Chess loved sleeping in the chair beside mine.
Have you clicked ‘notify me’ on the Kickstarter yet? Please, please do. There is no financial committment by clicking notify - it just helps me get enough interest to launch. I’m STILL waiting for the hardcover, fancy versions to arrive - I’ll post pictures when they do.
I’m still working on Fiends & Familiars, to wrap up the Winthrop Literary (& Magic) Society series. You can preorder the complete series in one volume right here.
If you’re trying to avoid Amazon, you should check out Bookshop.Org - you can get mine & other author’s books there.
If you’re interested in the audio, I’ve been posting the first chapters of the completed stories on YouTube with links to buy the e-book, audio, or subscribe to the Graffridge posts. Here’s a link to And So It begins, Chapter One, on YouTube.
I’ve adjusted my audio recording schedule and will be uploading new files to the Graffridge Publishing ‘stack in the next week. Click here to subscribe over there and get text/audio chapters read by me for you to enjoy!
Love your grandfather's quote! Also, I got notified. Yay, Spring!
