It’s been a busy week, but busy in a good way. I’ve been trying to get a bunch of house stuff done that I’d put off for far too long. My cousin is coming to visit at the end of this month to celebrate our shared birthdays - they’re four days apart. She’s three years older and a brilliant, wonderful friend. Yes, sometimes family can be awesome friends.
Most of this year’s focus has been on the marketing and management side of the business. There are things I should be doing that I didn’t know how to do - and things I’ve been doing that weren’t working - so I’ve been getting regular mentoring advice and doing a lot of reading and training.
With all of the training comes some changes, and you’ll be seeing them over the next few weeks. Good changes for you - and hopefully, good results for me.
While we’re on the subject of ‘good’ - the boys have been good this week - even with my rearranging the main living space and upsetting their world. Bear really doesn’t like it when I change things up and he’s a cranky old man anyway. Chess decided to snuggle up with Ace and let Bear have the dog bed to himself.
I’m still working on Storm’s Witness - and now you can FINALLY preorder. The rest of the links are still in process.
Ellie worked as a cam-girl to put herself through school. She lived in a tiny apartment in a rough neighborhood and dreamed of the day she'd have a real house and a job she could actually put on a resume.
Then she witnessed a murder.
Kegan Storm came from a wealthy family where he went against everything they expected of him to become a cop. Not many detectives lived in penthouse apartments or drove expensive cars, but Kegan did. Part of the homicide unit in Paradise Cove, NC, he is called out to a case. Everything seems normal, until it isn't.
It's going to take everything he's got to keep this witness safe, in spite of his attraction to her. He can't let desire distract him, or they'll both end up dead.
What are you reading this week? The local book club selection is Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See. I didn’t think I was going to like it, but I’m intrigued enough to keep going. I’m also looking forward to Nora Roberts new release, coming May 27th - it’s another one of her romantic suspense novels - Hidden Nature.
The new book sounds awesome!
