Storms on the ridge...
I’m writing this ahead of the Hurricane that’s supposed to hit us on Thursday and Friday. If all goes well, I’ll update before it goes out on Sunday.
If we’re still without power - it’ll go out on Sunday without an update.
The porch is cleared ahead of the storm that is predicted to have over 55mph winds and up to 15” of rain. Flash flooding is a problem around these parts, but my house is safe because we’re up on a ridge.
Getting to the store is not possible, however.
I’m all stocked up, have a Sterno stove, and battery backup packs for my phone and e-reader. This New England girl knows how to prep for a storm.
I’ve also printed out Queen so far, and have a notebook and pen so I can keep going if the outages last more than a few hours.
Do you have storms where you live that you have to prep for? What kinds of things do you do?

If possible, please let us know how y’all are doing? I know there’s still a lot of people without power. Since you’re in North Carolina and live on the mountain, I’m hoping your damage is not severe.
